EIB was formed by Lynn in 1994 with one conviction: good financial advice should feel personal.
For more than 32 years we've sat across the table from first-time filers, growing businesses, and families navigating life's hardest moments. We learned everyone's names. We remembered their stories. And we made it our mission to turn something stressful — money — into something steady and reassuring.
Jamie became a partner in 2013, helping expand the firm's client service, tax preparation, bookkeeping, and payroll capabilities. Today we're a full-service accounting, tax, and payroll firm, but the heart of the place hasn't changed.
Each year, EIB files an average of 600 tax returns for individuals, families, and businesses. Based in the greater Birmingham area, we file tax returns for clients nationwide — and you'll still get a real person who picks up the phone, explains things in plain English, and treats your success like their own.
Beyond tax season, we're a year-round partner to the businesses we serve: we provide monthly financials and bookkeeping for more than 65 companies, and full-service payroll for over 40 companies nationwide.

For more than 40 years, Charles “Lynn” Taul has helped individuals, families, and small business owners navigate their financial and tax needs with confidence. Since beginning his career in the financial industry in 1984, Lynn has built a reputation for knowledgeable guidance, personalized service, and practical solutions that help clients achieve their financial goals.
As a Certified Tax Preparer, a member of the National Association of Tax Professionals (NATP), and the holder of a Bachelor's degree in Business, Lynn brings both professional expertise and real-world experience to every client relationship. He specializes in accounting, bookkeeping, payroll, and personal and business tax preparation, with a particular passion for helping small businesses thrive.
Known for his analytical approach and his ability to simplify complex financial matters, Lynn helps clients understand their financial position, stay compliant with changing tax regulations, and identify opportunities to maximize legal tax savings. His greatest satisfaction comes from providing peace of mind and removing the uncertainty that so often surrounds financial and tax decisions.
What truly sets Lynn apart is his commitment to long-term relationships. Guided by Christian values of integrity, fairness, compassion, and service, he believes every client deserves expert guidance delivered with honesty, respect, and genuine care. Clients frequently describe him as approachable, thorough, and someone who takes the time to make sure they fully understand their options.
Outside of work, Lynn enjoys spending time with his children and grandchildren, Bible study and church activities, reading, and watching classic movies. He is also known among family and friends for his love of Christmas, snowmen, and playing Santa — bringing that same warmth, kindness, and spirit to the clients he serves every day.

With more than 15 years of accounting and bookkeeping-related experience, Jamie helps business owners understand their finances, make confident decisions, and build stronger futures through practical guidance and trusted relationships.

As Partner at EIB, Jamie White oversees office operations, payroll, bookkeeping services, and staff management, while serving as a trusted resource for clients navigating the financial side of their businesses. With more than 15 years of experience in accounting and bookkeeping-related services and membership in the American Institute of Professional Bookkeepers (AIPB), Jamie brings both deep expertise and a genuine passion for helping people succeed.
Known as the firm's “interpreter,” Jamie specializes in translating financial information into practical, understandable concepts that empower clients to make confident business decisions. She believes accounting should never feel overwhelming, and takes pride in helping business owners understand what their money is doing, where their business is headed, and how to plan proactively for growth.
Jamie is especially passionate about small businesses and entrepreneurs, whom she sees as the backbone of strong communities. She loves helping clients turn side ventures into sustainable businesses that support families and create opportunities for others. Her client-centered approach rests on one simple principle — relationship — and clients appreciate her patience, her willingness to answer every question, and her commitment to going the extra mile for their peace of mind.

Outside the office, Jamie enjoys time with family and friends, crafting, camping, and audiobooks. She is active in her community as Past President of the Trussville Daybreak Rotary, Past Ambassador for the Trussville Area Chamber of Commerce, and currently Treasurer for the St. Clair County Educational Foundation.
And while many assume accounting professionals love math, Jamie is quick to say she actually loves puzzles — she sees her work not as solving math problems, but as putting together the pieces that help clients build successful futures. Her philosophy is captured in a favorite quote from Henry David Thoreau: “The price of anything is the amount of life you exchange for it.”

One of her favorite parts of the role is solving problems and providing peace of mind. For Madison, the most rewarding part of the job is knowing she's made someone's day a little easier.
Madison was drawn to accounting and payroll because no two days are ever quite alike.
